Relax is the woven one. Where Grace prints a pattern onto its fabric strap, Relax builds the texture into the weave itself — a close basketweave knit that you can see the grain of up close and feel against the foot. It is the quieter of the two, and the one that looks less like a beach sandal.
The V-strap is finished at the toe post with a small stitched tab, three parallel rows of stitching across a panel of contrast trim. It is a small detail, but it is the thing that lifts Relax above a plain fabric thong — a sandal with a little bit of making in it.
Woven fabric does something PU cannot: it breathes, and it moves with the foot rather than against it. There is no breaking-in period, and no rub across the top on a warm day.
Underfoot, the footbed carries a fine diamond lattice the full length for grip, and the outsole below is cut into deep scalloped blocks of tread — the same walking-sole construction as Grace, for footing on wet tile and uneven road.
This is the black colourway — the one that disappears under everything and shows the least through daily wear, which on a fabric upper counts for more than it does on PU.
Details
-
Woven fabric V-strap — texture built into the weave rather than printed on, breathable and comfortable from the first wear.
-
Stitched toe-post tab — a trimmed panel with triple stitching where the strap meets the post.
-
Deep scalloped outsole — tread cut into blocks across the full width, for footing on wet floors and uneven ground.
-
Diamond-lattice footbed — fine moulded texture the full length, so the foot holds rather than slides forward.
-
Sizes 4 to 8 — five sizes, one width.
-
Easy to clean — wipe the strap with a damp cloth and air dry out of direct sun. A woven upper traps dust in the grain, so brush it out gently rather than scrubbing. Do not machine wash.
For the long days on your feet — travelling, running errands, moving about the house — where you want the sandal to stop registering after the first ten minutes.
