Puff is named after its upper, and the name is the whole description. The strap is built from five padded tubes laid side by side in a soft wave, each one rounded and filled rather than flat — so instead of one band pressing across the instep, the weight spreads over five cushions that give independently as the foot moves.
It is the softest upper in the range. Most slides put the cushioning underfoot and leave the strap to do the gripping; this one cushions on both sides of the foot.
Underneath, the footbed is moulded in fine ripple ridges running the width of the foot, shaped through the arch, on a soft one-piece sole. This colourway sets a cream upper against a dark chocolate footbed and sole, with a small tonal brand tab at the side — the contrast is what makes the puffed sections read as separate tubes rather than one padded block.
Details
-
Five-tube puffed upper — padded rounded sections laid side by side, so the strap gives under the foot across its whole width instead of pressing as one band.
-
Cushioned on both sides — padding in the strap as well as the footbed, which is unusual at this price and is what the name is about.
-
Ripple-textured footbed — fine moulded ridges across the width, so the foot settles in rather than sliding about on it.
-
Contoured through the arch — shaped rather than flat, with a slight cup at the heel.
-
Sizes 4 to 8 — five sizes, one width.
-
Easy to clean — wipe with a damp cloth and air dry, working along the tubes rather than across them. A cream upper shows marks sooner, so do it more often.
Wear them around the house, to the shops, on the balcony — the pair you put on when your feet have had enough of everything else.
